The Center opened in October of 2006 and began its first groups in November. The center is located in Olympia and all of the groups skills are done on site. The DBT Skills groups are run by Beth Rogers, Lindsey Waite, Heather Campbell, Stacy Schilter, and Tracy Kenela. The Center’s mission is to provide quality DBT skills training groups, individual DBT therapy, client phone consultation and weekly consultation groups in accordance with the guidelines set out by Behavior Tech, the company founded by Marsha Linehan to provide DBT training. The goal of the Olympia Center is to provide Dialectical Behavior Therapy in accordance to the model developed by Dr. Linehan. We are currently receiving consultation from Dr. Sherri Manning, former President and CEO of Behavioral Tech. Dr. Manning is the author of the book, Loving Someone with Borderline Personality Disorder: How to Keep Out-of-Control Emotions from Destroying Your Relationship.
